What is Classical Pilates?

Classical Pilates uses the core muscles, what Joseph Pilates termed "the powerhouse," to achieve a symmetrically strong and flexible body. I was drawn to Pilates because if its ability to strengthen and stretch muscles without adding bulk. The non-impact environment of Pilates as well as its personalized care of injuries not only reshaped my body, but healed it as well.

I completed my Pilates certification at The Pilates Studio of New York under Romana Kryzanowska in 2001. I truly believe that Pilates is a life-changing method that can be adapted to any individual's needs.
