Fairies and Elephants

"Some days you are a fairy, and some days you are an elephant."-- Karin Bergesen

A big thank you is in order to my mother-in-law, Karin Bergesen, for two things. First, she read my blog! Woohoo! Second, she distilled what I was trying to say into this perfect metaphor.

 

Some days I DO float through a workout like a fairy. Sadly, the elephant days are still all too frequent. But I have great faith that with enough diligence, this newly 45-year-old body will emerge with wings. Figuratively speaking, of course. 

Today's workout for a beautiful faux-spring day:  hula hooping with my son. That was harder than I remembered it from last summer. Another item to add to the list of  Things That Need Fairy-fying. Sunshine definitely makes hope spring eternal, so today I am confident that I can do it.
